The Ellettsville, Indiana Plan Commission met in regular session at 7:00 p.m., Thursday, August 2nd, 2001. Members present were David Drake, President; Frank Buczolich, Vice-President; William Evans, Secretary: Terry Baker, Geraldine McIntyre, Don Calvert, and Sandra Hash.   Mr. Drake called the meeting to order.  Also present was Rick Coppock, Town Engineer.

 

 

COMMENTS:

 

Mr. David Drake opened the meeting by welcoming Mr. Don Calvert to the Planning and Zoning Board.  Mr. Calvert has been appointed to assume the position of Kevin Farris, who resigned his position earlier this year.  Mr. Drake also introduced him to the audience. 

 

OLD BUSINESS:

 

Mr. David Drake explained in depth a new Zoning Ordinance relative to Section 8:13 of the Town Code.  The Ordinance pertains mainly to parking and driveways in the town.  There was discussion between the audience and the Commission members about this.

 

William Evans, Secretary, took a poll of the membership to find out who was in attendance at the July 5th meeting.

         

NEW BUSINESS:  Voluntary Annexation of the Zion Church of the Nazarene and the Foster and McCoy Property:

 

Mr. Tom Ruemler, a member of the Zion Church of the Nazarene of Ellettsville, stated that the Church wanted to voluntarily annex 21.62 acres, plus 10 acres tangent to the southern boundary on the petition. A portion of the 21.62 acres lies along Ratliff Road

 

Motion made by Geraldine McIntyre, seconded by Terry Baker to approve the zoning of the Zion Church of the Nazarene Annexation Property as R-1, Single Family, to be used for a Church.  Motion carried, 6-0.

 

Campbell’s Park Annexation:

 

 Motion made by Terry Baker to annex the Campbell’s Park area and recommend that it be zoned as R-1.  Geraldine McIntyre seconded.  Motion carried, 6-0.

 

Well Site Annexation:

 

The well site location was discussed by the Town Engineer, Rick Coppock, and the members of the Commission.  Motion made by Sandra Hash to annex the well site property, Phase 1, with a R-1 Zoning.  Geraldine McIntyre seconded.  Motion carried, 6-0.

 

Love Property Annexation:

 

Town Engineer, Rick Coppock explained that the Love Property is actually owned by Mike and Mary George, and is just referred to as the Love Property.  The location and future use of the property was explained by Mr. Coppock. 

Motion was made by William Evans to annex the Love Property into the Town of Ellettsville with special use zoning for an existing antique business now located on the property.  Motion seconded by Geraldine McIntyre.  Motion carried 5-1, one abstention.

 

Site Plan Approval of Edgewood Village Homes, Phase II, 19 Duplexes, 38 Units.

 

There was discussion between the audience and the Commission members about this.

 

MINUTES:

 

Motion made by Sandra Hash, seconded by Geraldine McIntyre to accept the minutes of the May 3rd meeting with changes as noted.  Motion carried.
