The Ellettsville, Indiana Plan Commission met in regular session at 7:00 p.m., Thursday, September 6th, 2001. Members present were David Drake, President; Frank Buczolich, Vice-President; Terry Baker, Geraldine McIntyre, Don Calvert, and Sandra Hash. William Evans, Secretary, was absent. Frank Buczolich acted as Secretary in the absence of William Evans. Mr. Drake called the meeting to order. Also present was Rick Coppock, Town Engineer.

NEW BUSINESS:

Site Plan Approval for Edgewood Village Homes, Phase II:

Mr. Phil Tapp; of Bledsoe, Tapp, and Riggert spoke to the Plan Commission about the site plan approval for Phase II of the Edgewood Village Homes. The original plan had called for 40 units but was now down to 38 units. There was discussion between the audience and the Commission members about this approval. Motion made by Frank Buczolich to approve the Site Plan for Edgewood Village Homes, Phase II. Motion seconded by Sandra Hash. Motion carried, 4-2.

Rezoning for Smitty’s UpholsteryShop, 200 South First Street:

Bruce Smith, owner of Smitty’s Upholstery Shop appeared before the Zoning Commission to request a Rezoning so that he could add on to the back of his shop. There was discussion between the Commission members, Mr. and Mrs. Smith, and Rick Coppock about this. It was Rick’ suggestion that the shop be rezoned as C-2 instead of the current R-1 Zoning.

Motion made by Sandy Hash to rezone the property at 200 South First Street from R-1 to C-2. Motion seconded by Geraldine McIntyre. Motion carried, 6-0.

Meadowlands Phase II, Preliminary Approval:

Mr. Rick Coppock, Town Engineer, gave a description of the site development and discussed this with the members of the Planning Commission. Mr. David Drake, President, asked questions about creating green space in the development. There was also response from the audience about the approval of Phase II.

Motion made by Geraldine McIntyre to approve Meadowlands Phase II Preliminary Approval Plan. Motion seconded by Terry Baker. Motion carried, 6-0.

Public Hearing on the Zoning Ordinance Amendment Concerning Off Street Auto and RV (?) Vehicle Parking:

Mr. Drake said that the Town Attorney, Mike Spencer, had redone the amendment for him. There have been some changes made to the terminology of the amendment and also some provisions added. There were also changes made relative to Section 813-35 of the Ellettsville Town Code. There are restrictions, additions, and clarifications that have been made to the amendment. There was discussion between the Zoning Commission about the ordinance.

Sandy Hash made a motion to recommend the revision of the ordinance. Terry Baker seconded. Motion carried, 5-0.
