Park and Recreation Board
The Ellettsville Parks and Recreation Board met on
Monday, August 6, 2001 at the Ellettsville Town Hall. Members present were
Darlyne Sowder, President; Art Moynihan, Vice President; Patrick Stoffers,
Secretary; L.D. Axsom, and Edwin Macatangay.
MINUTES
Art Moynihan made a motion to approve the minutes
from July 2, 2001 with corrections. L.D. Axsom seconded the motion. Motion
passed.

ELLETTSVILLE
FAMILY SKATEPARK
Cathy Cerajeski
said the park is open most evenings with 4 to 20 kids using the park on any given evening. One application for supervisor was rejected
due to a background check issue.
Darlyne Sowder reviewed the cash handling
procedures for collected park funds. Patrick Stoffers said he would discuss
installing a drinking fountain at the park with Mike Farmer. There was general
discussion regarding ramps, murals on the west fence wall, and membership on an
advisory committee to include Sue Murphy.
2002
BUDGET
The board reviewed and discussed the changes made to
the 2002 budget by the council. Patrick Stoffers made a motion to approve the
amended budget. Art Moynihan seconded the motion. The motion did not pass with
Art Moynihan and L.D. Axsom voting "Aye", Darlyne Sowder and Patrick
Stoffers voting "No", and Edwin Macatangay abstaining from voting on
the motion.
Edwin Macatangay discussed Senate Enrolled Act 141
regarding extreme sports.
The next Parks Board meeting will be on Tuesday,
September 4th at 7:00 PM.
ADJOURNMENT
Patrick Stoffers made a motion to adjourn. Art
Moynihan seconded the motion. Motion passed.
