Park and Recreation Board
November 5, 2001
The Ellettsville Parks and
Recreation Board met on Tuesday, November 5, 2001 at the Ellettsville Town
Hall. Members present were Darlyne Sowder, President; Art
Moynihan, Vice President; Edwin Macatangay, and L.D. Axsom.
Minutes
Mr. Moynihan made a motion to
approve the minutes from October 1, 2001.
Mr. Macatangay seconded the motion. Motion passed 3-0. (Mr. Macatangay
abstained)
Public Comments None
Well Site Presentation
David Sorokoty
introduced a graduate student team from the Eppley
Institute. The team members included
John Drew, Junius Ho, Token Barnthouse,
and Erin Policinski.
They presented a plan to convert the Well Site into a woodland
park.
The plan presented was not
fully complete. The team will present
their complete plan to the Ellettsville Town Council later in the month.
(Mr. Moynihan left the
meeting.)
Old Business
Skate Park-
It was stated that Jim Ragle did not have anything to cover the ramps. It was also stated that he recommends that we
leave the ramps uncovered.
Park Dedication-
The park dedication will be
in the spring.
Park Boards Records-
The Parks Board still does
not have all the past records. Mrs. Sowder has received a few records. David Sorokoty will
try to retrieve the remaining records.
Plaque-
All of the known contributors
for the playground equipment installed at Campbell’s Park have been found for
the commemorative plaque. A similar
plaque will be installed for the contributors for the basketball court equipment.
New Business
Main Street Conference-
Mr. Macatangay
made a motion to approve the attendance of Mrs. Sowder
at a Main Street Conference. Mr. Axsom seconded the motion.
The cost is $65.00. The motion
passed 3-0.
Main Street Forestry
Committee-
Mr. Macatangay
made a motion to write a letter of support for the Main Street Forestry
Committee. Mr. Axsom
seconded. The motion passed 3-0.
Other
The next Board meeting will
be on Monday, December 3rd at 7:00pm.

Mr. Axsom
made a motion to adjourn. Mr. Macatangay seconded the motion. Motion passed 3-0.
