September 4, 2001

The Ellettsville Parks and Recreation Board met on Tuesday, September 4, 2001 at the Ellettsville Town Hall. Members present were Darlyne Sowder, President; Art Moynihan, Vice President; Edwin Macatangay, and L.D. Axsom.

Minutes

Art Moynihan made a motion to approve the minutes from August 6, 2001. L.D. Axsom seconded the motion. Motion passed 4-0.

Public Comments

None

Marci Lewis Memorial Park (Skate Park/Basketball Courts)

Darlyne Sowder reported that:

Ÿ A check has not been received from the Skate Park Fund.

Ÿ Drinking fountain has been installed.

Ÿ Basketball courts are now complete with 3 full courts. The equipment has not been paid for by the private citizens as promised.

Discussed SB141 (Extreme Sports Liability). It was stated that Jerry Pittsford will discuss this law with the Town Lawyer.

Campbell’s Park

Stone sign has been installed for the park. It was donated by Bybee.

Discussed holding a dedication ceremony for both Campbell’s and Marci Lewis Park.

2002 Budget

The Board reviewed changes to the 2002 budget. The Ellettsville Town Council changed the budget back to the original budget.

Other

The next Board meeting will be on Monday, October 1st at 7:00pm.

Art Moynihan made a motion to adjourn. Edwin Macatangay seconded the motion. Motion passed 4-0.
