The Ellettsville, Indiana, Town Council met in regular session at 7:30 PM, Monday, June 10, 2002 at the Town Hall. David Sorokoty called the meeting to order and led in prayer. David Drake led in the Pledge of Allegiance.
Roll Call
David Sorokoty asked for roll call of the Council Members. Members present were David Sorokoty, President; David Drake, Vice-President and Geraldine McIntyre. Also present was Sandra Hash, Clerk-Treasurer; Deborah Hudson, Administrative Assistant and Mike Spencer, Town Attorney. Mike Cornman and Jerry Pittsford were absent.

Approval of Minutes of
the regular meeting on May 28th and May 29th, 2002
Geraldine McIntyre moved to approve the minutes. David Drake seconded. Motion carried.
Action to pay Accounts
Payable Vouchers
David Drake moved to approve the accounts payable vouchers. Geraldine McIntyre seconded. Motion carried.

Reading
Ordinance 02-11 Vacating a
Public Way (alley between lots 5 & 6 of the Original Plat of Ellettsville)
David Drake read by title and described the location as being west of
the Town Hall off of Main Street. David
Drake explained that the Plan Commission had approved vacating this alleyway
and he said that it is one of many problems with this property (property of
Grover Brashear).

Old Business
Transfer of Property –
Endwright Center
David Drake made a motion to approve the transfer of property known as
the Endwright Center from the Town of Ellettsville to Area 10 Agency on
Aging. Geraldine McIntyre
seconded. Attorney Mike Spencer
prepared the property deed and explained that this fulfills the Agreement made
to transfer the property to Area 10 at the end of the 5 years. Motion carried.
New Business None
Privilege of the Floor
Gene Crum of the
Ellettsville Police Reserves -
presented Jason Neal who is requesting to be on the Police Reserves. Jason said he lives on Chambers Pike in
Bloomington. He graduated in 1994 from
Bloomington High School North. He is
twenty-five years old and currently employed as a jail officer in Morgan
County. Geraldine McIntyre made a
motion to accept Jason Neal as a new Reserve Deputy for the Ellettsville
Police. David Drake seconded. Motion carried.
Supervisor’s comments
Mike Farmer – Said that he was informed that the
Town Hall building is owned by
the Utilities Department and that the roof needs repaired because it is
leaking.
Mike said they have received three quotes and will be talking to the
company with the lowest price and if they meet our requirements, the roof will
be repaired within the next couple weeks.
Jim Davis – Requested permission to send two of the
Full-time Firemen to attend a Training Class for Heavy Rescue in Middletown,
Kentucky. The cost to attend is $325
per person and they will be staying overnight.
Geraldine McIntyre made a motion to approve Jim’s request. David Drake seconded. Motion carried.
Darlyne Sowder, President of
the Parks and Recreation Board -
Announced that the Skate Board Park is officially open. The hours are 8:00 a. m. to dusk every day
weather permitting. Children under
twelve years of age are required to have adult supervision. Also, all skaters are required to use
helmets, knee and elbow pads and wrist guards.
Sandra Hash – Reminded the Council that she and Amber
would be in Indianapolis this Tuesday, June 11th; Wednesday, June 12th
and the morning of Thursday, June 13th for the State Board of
Accounts annual meeting that the Clerk-Treasurers and Deputy Clerks are
required to attend.
