Tour of Parks Property Aug 19^th 2003

The Parks Board Members met at the Memorial Park to start their tour of the park properties. One purpose of the meeting was to gain an understanding of what items within each park needed repairs. Another purpose was to determine what possible projects could be initiated in each of the parks properties.

Members present were Darlyne Sowder - President, Edwin Macatangay - Vice President, L.D. Axsom, and Jeff Frownfelter - Secretary. Darlyne Sowder called the tour of parks properties to order at 6:00 PM.

Members visited each of the parks. Each park was walked over and each member jotted down notes concerning what they thought needed to be attended to or made some notes about what they thought could be done to improve the parks. Members were asked to bring their notes to the next Parks Board meeting for discussion and to put together a list of possible actions to take at each property.

The tour of the parks lasted about 1 and one half hours and covered each of the facilities. Each board member left with a better understanding of each property’s assets. Also during the tour of the Skate Park it was determined that the park needed to be closed until repairs could be made due to safety concerns.

The meeting ended approximately at 7:30 PM.
