The
Edwin Macatangay was not present due to a school board
meeting at the same time.
The Parks Board
met to review the first draft of the Tree Ordinance for the Town of
The board would like clarification on the legal
boundaries of the roadside and specifically how much leway from the road is
state, or road, property. There is some concern about how much of people’s
yards the right of way will take. Also
of note were the terms and start dates of the members of the tree committee.
The members suggest the draft change the terms of member service to reflect
other town office and board member terms of service.
There was some concern about available funding or the
need to provide funding in the future for some of the items mentioned in the
proposed ordinance. Certainly among these concerns is the ongoing purchase and
maintenance of trees and shrubs over the course of years.
There is also mention of enforcement of items in the
ordinance. The committee will have to work with the town
Parks Board items discussed on Feb. 16th
Hartstraight road is now scheduled to be reopened in
order to connect to the road in front of
the current fire station. This will allow traffic to reach the neighborhoods
beyond the ball fields much quicker without going through town and the 46
highway loop. The concern is the possible elimination of parking for
