Old Business
Skate Park
Review of equipment catalogue for skate parks.
Geraldine provided a brief history of the start of the park and the original
equipment and input for the equipment. Edwin suggested the parks board should
contact the public through the local paper and let users of the park know to
come to the next meeting to give input
concerning what type of equipment, meaning ramps, rails, etc, should be
purchased. L.D. also noted that he would like more input from the users of the
park on what type of equipment should be purchased. It was suggested that if
there is no input concerning the equipment the parks board should hold the
money and use it for repairs to existing structures connected with the skate
park.
Wishing Well Nature Park
Jeff Frownfelter suggested a priority list for maintenance of the property. L.D. would like
to see parts of the park cleared for better use potential as many areas are
overgrown. He stated that more cleared out areas would help lead to better use
of the property. He also suggested a professional landscaper provide estimates
to clear the property and offer suggestions as to how to control the
undergrowth and weeds. Geraldine mentioned contacting Jim Ragle for a weed-clearing
estimate. L.D. volunteered to contact a landscape person concerning weed
control and clearing some areas for better use of the property. L.D would also
like the parks board to visit or at least discuss the Boggs Lake park area as an
example of what can be done with the Wishing Wells property.
The meeting was moved to adjourn by Jeff Frownfelter and seconded by
Geraldine McIntyre. All members voted to adjourn, meeting adjourned at 7:45 PM. Motion carried
