October 3, 2005 Ellettsville Parks and Recreation Board meeting Minutes

The Ellettsville Parks and Recreation Board met on October 3, 2005 at the Fire Department Training and Conference Center. Members present were Jeff Frownfelter, President; Edwin Macatangay, Vice President; Geraldine McIntyre and Amber Ragle.

Approve Minutes of September 6, 2005

Edwin Macatangay made a motion to accept the minutes for the September meeting. Geraldine McIntyre seconded. Motion carried.

Approve Accounts Payable/Review Expenditures

Expenditures were reviewed for the previous month. Amber informed the board that the part-time laborer for the Street Department that is paid partially out of the Parks Fund started a full-time job elsewhere and will only be working for the Town on Fridays.

Budget

The board discussed ways to possibly save money in 2006 since the budget was reduced from 2005. Jeff Frownfelter asked how much was in the Memorial Park Maintenance Fund and if there has been anything spent out of there yet. It was suggested that the lights at the Sport’s Park could be turned off at midnight each night and turned off completely through the winter months. Edwin suggested the possibility of foregoing Board Member pay if it would be used for a specific project, not just to go back into the cash balance.

New Business

Amber Ragle stated the proceeds from the Coke Machines at the Skate Park for August was $33.00 and September was $45.00.

Edwin Macatangay asked about the status of the Parks Master Plan. Jeff Frownfelter has not found anything out yet.

The meeting was moved to adjourn by Geraldine McIntyre and seconded by Amber Ragle. Motion carried. Meeting adjourned at 7:38 pm.
