April 3, 2006 Ellettsville Parks and Recreation Board meeting Minutes

The Ellettsville Parks and Recreation Board met on April 3, 2006 at the Fire Department Training and Conference Center. Members present were Geraldine McIntyre, Amber Ragle and Michael Griffey. Brett Williamson and Edwin Macatangay were absent.

Approve Minutes of March 6, 2006

Geraldine McIntyre made a motion to accept the minutes for the March meeting. Amber Ragle seconded. Motion carried.

Public Comment

Dennis Williamson received a call from Lloyd Dewar concerning the Boy Scouts. They are preparing to do an Eagle Scout Project and are looking for suggestions. Dennis explained the project needs to include planning, leadership, behind the scenes work and implementation of the project. He would like for the Parks Board to let him know if there are any upcoming projects that the Scouts could complete.

Approve Accounts Payable/Review Expenditures

The expenditures for the month were discussed.

New Business

Michael Griffey informed the board that during the storm over the weekend, a tree fell at Campbell’s Park by the playground equipment and it is currently unsafe for anyone to be around. The Street Department has placed caution tape around the equipment until it can be taken care of. He explained there is a possibility that the tree can be taken down by our crews, but if not it will have to be hired out. Geraldine McIntyre made a motion to allow the Street Department to hire a company to take the tree down at Campbell’s Park if the Street Department is unable to do it. Amber Ragle seconded. Motion carried.

Amber informed the board that no money was received this month for coke machine proceeds.

The meeting was moved to adjourn by Geraldine McIntyre and seconded by Amber Ragle. Motion carried. Meeting adjourned at 7:15 pm.
