The Ellettsville Parks and Recreation Board met on August 7, 2006 at the Fire Department Training and Conference Center. Members present were Edwin Macatangay, Vice-President; Michael Griffey, Geraldine McIntyre and Amber Ragle. Brett Williamson, President was absent. Edwin Macatangay called the meeting to order.

Approve Minutes of July 3, 2006

Geraldine McIntyre made a motion to accept the minutes for the July meeting. Michael Griffey seconded. Motion carried.

Approve Accounts Payable /Review Expenditures

The expenditures for the month were discussed.

New Business

There was discussion concerning the numerous instances of vandalism that have been occurring at the Parks and the possible solutions to the problem. Michael Griffey would like to discuss this issue further when Brett is present. He would like to see Brett meet with the Town Council President to find a solution.

Edwin asked who was having an event at the new shelter house on August 9, 2006. It was advertised in The Journal, but didn’t say who was putting it on. Amber said she thought it was the First Assembly of God. Michael mentioned they were brave to advertise in the paper since we have no policy on renting shelter houses and they are all first come-first serve. Edwin said this is the exact reason there needs to be a policy in place for rentals (so no one else could get there before them).

Amber informed the board that $75.00 was received this month for Coke Machine proceeds.

The meeting was moved to adjourn by Geraldine McIntyre and seconded by Michael Griffey. Motion carried. Meeting adjourned at 7:20 pm.
