May 1, 2006 Ellettsville Parks and Recreation Board meeting Minutes

The Ellettsville Parks and Recreation Board met on May 1, 2006 at the Fire Department Training and Conference Center. Members present were Brett Williamson, President; Edwin Macatangay, Vice-President; Geraldine McIntyre, Amber Ragle and Michael Griffey.

Approve Minutes of April 3, 2006

Geraldine McIntyre made a motion to accept the minutes for the April meeting. Michael Griffey seconded. Motion carried.

Public Comment

Dennis Williamson reminded the board that the Boy Scouts are still looking for a project if anyone has any ideas. Brett recommended the Boy Scouts contact him. Michael suggested not giving them a project at the Wishing Well Nature Park. It is too much of a liability. Dennis also commented that Michael Griffey did a good job conducting the April meeting

Approve Accounts Payable/Review Expenditures

The expenditures for the month were discussed.

Old Business

Geraldine asked if the tree at Campbell’s Park was taken down successfully. Michael said 3 trees at Campbell’s Park were taken down by the Street Department and no outside costs were incurred.

New Business

Brett has been in contact with the gentleman from DNR concerning the Parks Master Plan and will be meeting him around the first of June to tour the Wishing Well Nature Park and the trail. They will be walking the park and he will give his assessment. He will also be bringing information on the ADA requirements to pass on to the Council. Michael suggested taking dated pictures of the Park and trail and record the amount of rain received because by the first of June it could be dry and he wouldn’t be able to get a good idea of what the Park is like. Brett agreed.

The meeting was moved to adjourn by Geraldine McIntyre and seconded by Michael Griffey. Motion carried. Meeting adjourned at 7:06 pm.
