The Ellettsville Parks and Recreation Board met on Monday, June 2, 2008 at the Fire Department Training and Conference Center. Jimmie Durnil called the meeting to order at 5:30 pm and led the Pledge of Allegiance. Members present were Jimmie Durnil, President; Geraldine McIntyre, Vice-President; Amber Ragle and Richard Pease. Michael Griffey was absent.

Approve Minutes of May 7, 2008

Geraldine McIntyre moved to approve the minutes of the May 7, 2008 meeting. Richard Pease seconded. Motion carried.

Review Accounts Payable Expenditures

Amber Ragle stated the electric bills were paid, parts were purchased for the restrooms at Campbell’s Park and the new part-time parks’ employee was paid. Amber then stated the parks’ employee was no longer employed; it did not work out.

Old Business

Jimmie Durnil presented about some “on going” projects for comments:

• Have flowers been planted at the gateway islands? Amber said they tried meeting with Tom Orman last month but he only works in the evening. Mr. Orman called and will meet with Sandra Hash. Geraldine recommended perennials.

• He has not seen any activity with the skateboarders on the stage area. It seems they are leaving the picnic tables alone. The picnic tables looked to be in good shape.
• Asked about the status of the basketball backboards. Amber will check into it.

Jimmie Durnil adjourned the meeting and announced the next meeting will be July 7, 2008.
