September 8, 2009 Ellettsville Parks and Recreation Board meeting Minutes

The Ellettsville Parks and Recreation Board met on Tuesday, September 8, 2009 at the Fire Department Training and Conference Center. Jimmie Durnil called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m. with the Pledge of Allegiance. Members present were Jimmie Durnil, President; Richard Pease, Vice-President; Amber Ragle, Secretary; Michael Griffey and Geraldine McIntyre.

Approve Minutes of August 3, 2009

Geraldine McIntyre made a motion to approve the August 3, 2009 minutes. Michael Griffey seconded. Motion carried.

Review Accounts Payable Expenditures

Amber Ragle stated the electric bills and payroll transactions were paid. Supplies were purchased to cover graffiti on the park’s bathrooms. The bathrooms will only be opened when the Shelter House is rented. Michael Griffey asked if, legally, the bathrooms needed to be opened at a public park.

New Business

Kari Wilson, representing Dennis Braun family, is trying to raise money for Dennis Braun to receive a heart transplant. She asked if the Parks Board would donate the use of the Shelter House on October 10, 2009 for a fund raiser. They have four gospel bands lined up. Amber will check the calendar to see if the date is open. Jimmie Durnil stated a $100 deposit will be needed before the event but will be refunded within thirty days after the event.

Jimmie Durnil entertained a motion that we help sponsor the Dennis Braun heart fund. Richard Pease seconded. Motion carried.

Amber Ragle stated $48 was received in Coke machine proceeds last month.

Geraldine McIntyre made a motion to adjourn. Michael Griffey seconded. Jimmie Durnil adjourned the meeting.
