April 5, 2010 Ellettsville Parks and Recreation Board Meeting Minutes

The Ellettsville Parks and Recreation Board met on Monday, April 5, 2010 at the Fire Department Training and Conference Center. Jimmie Durnil called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m. with the Pledge of Allegiance. Members present were Jimmie Durnil, President; Richard Pease, Vice-President; Amber Ragle, Secretary; Michael Griffey and Geraldine McIntyre.

Approve Minutes of March 1, 2010

Geraldine McIntyre made a motion to approve the minutes of the March 1, 2010 meeting. Michael Griffey seconded. Motion carried 5-0.

Review Accounts Payable Expenditures

Amber Ragle reviewed the expenditures for March.

New Business

Geraldine McIntyre would like to see a jungle gym and swing set installed at Marci Jane Lewis Park. She added it would probably only cost $1,500 - $2,000. Michael Griffey replied it would probably be more expensive because the grounds would have to be prepared in addition to buying the equipment. Geraldine McIntyre added it would be good if the kids didn’t have to cross the road when the shelter house is rented. She added she would talk with Jim Ragle about getting it done.

Amber Ragle went over the Shelter Income for 2009. $1,260 was collected for rental income and $82.42 was paid in sales tax for a net income of $1,177.58.

Jimmie Durnil invited everyone to an Open House in honor of his retirement from the Indiana State Police. It is to be held April 24, 2010 from 2:00 – 6:00 p.m. at the ISP Bloomington Post at 1500 N. Packinghouse Road.

Michael Griffey made a motion to adjourn. Geraldine McIntyre seconded. Motion carried 5-0. Jimmie Durnil adjourned the meeting at 5:38 p.m.
