December 6, 2010 Ellettsville Parks and Recreation Board Meeting Minutes

The Ellettsville Parks and Recreation Board met on Monday, November 6, 2010, at the Fire Department Training and Conference Center. Jimmie Durnil called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m. with the Pledge of Allegiance. Members present were Jimmie Durnil – President; Richard Pease – Vice President; Michael Griffey, Geraldine McIntyre and Amber Ragle - Secretary.

Approve Minutes of November 3, 2010

Geraldine McIntyre made a motion to approve the minutes of the November 3, 2010 meeting. Michael Griffey seconded. Motion carried.

Review Accounts Payable Expenditures

The Accounts Payable expenditures were discussed. Amber stated the only expenses this month were the electric bills. For December, the Board’s pay and electric bills will be paid.

Old Business

Geraldine McIntyre stated at the last meeting she discussed “Sunday in the Park” held by Lyons, Indiana. She thought she had a newspaper article at home but she does not. She will get the articles from her niece and bring them to the next meeting. Members discussed “Sunday in the Park” and decided to hold their own event. It was decided to have “Saturday in the Park” on June 4, 2011. Free soup will be served. A press release will be issued in January or February.

New Business

Amber Ragle has the final totals for the shelter house rentals in 2010. There is a net income of $2,224 after payment of the sales tax. There was a total of 30 shelter rentals. The big shelter house was rented 22 times, the Campbell’s Park big shelter house was rented 6 times and each of the other two shelter houses were rented one time.

Jimmie Durnil thanked Michael Griffey for his service to the Ellettsville Park and Recreation Board for five years. Michael Griffey said he will miss everyone and has enjoyed himself.

Amber Ragle advised the meeting notice for 2011 has to be included in the next agenda for the Town Council. Ms. Ragle asked if the members still wanted to meet on the first Monday of the month. It was decided to continue meeting on the first Monday of the month with the exception of holidays and other conflicts.
