October 4, 2010 Ellettsville Parks and Recreation Board Meeting Minutes

The Ellettsville Parks and Recreation Board met on Tuesday, October 4, 2010, at the Fire Department Training and Conference Center. Richard Pease called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m. with the Pledge of Allegiance. Members present were Richard Pease, Vice-President; Michael Griffey and Geraldine McIntyre. Amber Ragle and Jimmie Durnil were absent.

Approve Minutes of September 7, 2010

Michael Griffey made a motion to approve the minutes of the September 7, 2010, meeting. Geraldine McIntyre seconded. Motion carried.

Review Accounts Payable Expenditures

Geraldine McIntyre made a motion to approve the expenditures for the month of September. Michael Griffey seconded. Motion carried.

Old Business

There was not any old business.

New Business

· Ellettsville Chamber of Commerce. Kenny Williams, Vice President, stated the Chamber is celebrating its 50^th anniversary on October 14, 2010, at the Masonic Lodge. Sandra Hash, who is a member of the Chamber Board, has sent a letter to the Parks & Recreation Board, requesting permission to bury a time capsule which will be opened at the 100^th anniversary. The capsule will have a limestone marker on top and it will be buried three feet deep. There is already a time capsule at Memorial Park from the Sesquicentennial and Jim Ragle knows the location.

Michael Griffey made a motion to give permission for the Chamber of Commerce to bury the time capsule. Geraldine McIntyre seconded. Motion carried.

· Michael Griffey announced he will be resigning from the Board and December 1, 2010, will be his last meeting.
